Year Round and Seasonal Events

Year Rounds (YREs) or Seasonals are self-guided events you can do yourself most any day of the year or part of the year. See the link below to find our walks. If there is a physical start box, sign the register yourself and find directions at the local business or facility which has agreed to be the registration location. Registration materials are in a file cabinet or in a file box or folder that might be kept behind a counter. Ask for the "Walk Box or Folder" if you don't see it. Personnel at the facility don't know anything about volkssporting so be patient and respect their business customers. Otherwise find the walk on the AVA's Online Start Box (OSB) at http://my.ava.org. To download directions from the OSB, setup a login and password and follow the directions there.

Many walkers enjoy doing YRE's when they travel to other parts of the country -- a great way to see the area. They are also an excellent way to get your exercise between weekend events. Go http://my.ava.org. and click on "FIND A" to search for events by state.

Remember all walk directions are copyrighted. You must sign the walk register in order to obtain the directions and do the walk. You may not just take the directions. Remember that it costs money to furnish the walk box, provide copies of directions and lots of time to set up the route and manage the walk box. Consider a donation if you do not walk for IVV Credit and stamp books. If you use the Online Start Box, you will register and set up a login and password and "sign" a waiver that will be good for some time.

Daffodil Valley Volkssport Association has many YREs in our region and some a distance away in Eastern Washington. Try them out.
